EXERCISE SAVED MY LIFE!  Yes! It is that compelling and Yes!  I am that passionate about it.  It saved me from the grips of despair.

Hello!  I’m Corinne Robertson, Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Pilates and Kickboxing Instructor and Director/Owner of Personal Wellness Enterprises.

I had tried every diet and exercise available, and, at the age of 35 was just beginning to lose hope that anything would change.  I felt that I was just another sad statistic, a woman approaching middle age and looking down the road to obesity.  I turned to science………

ABOUT EXERCISE:

Apart from the obvious physical health benefits of exercise such as lowering the risk of heart disease, osteoporosis and obesity and the mental benefits in reducing anxiety depression and insomnia, in my view, exercise is simply about creating harmony between body and mind.  The most powerful thing that exercise gives you that is so invaluable is a sense of taking control of your life; emotional distress is often related to a feeling of things being out of control.

We all want a feeling of independence and connectedness and I believe exercise is a vehicle for that - it opens the pathway to physical health, emotional stability and mental balance.

Body by Corinne is simply a way of giving you the basic requirements for a healthy body—a couple of weights, a little time—really all that’s needed – it’s an all encompassing DVD with aerobics, weight training, pilates, dance and yoga (people have practiced yoga for thousands of years – yoga meaning yoke or union – the aim of the ancient Eastern practice is to create unity between self and the outer world and to resolve inner turmoil)

Body by Corinne is a great way to have fun and relieve stress, letting people know that we can choose whatever level feels right because it’s so important when you are beginning an exercise program that you listen to your body.

EXERCISE AND RELATIONSHIPS:

The stress of living including relationships with people that we love contributes to disorder of thoughts and breakdown of communication both with the people that we love and with ourselves.   I believe tying fitness with relationship health and success is appropriate – it is simply a means of tying physical health with emotional health.

The basic principle of exercise and  (yoga being the biggest contributor to this) is that the key to happiness resides within each of us.  The practice of yoga, for example, is the means by which we discover and draw upon this innate wisdom.  How do we draw upon this wisdom?  Yoga opens the door to our fullest potential as individuals so we want to train the body and breath to link the body and mind.

I believe to have a successful relationship we first have to connect with ourselves in a way that’s mentally and emotionally healthy before we could have a mature and fulfilling healthy relationship with anyone else

In an article entitled “Obesity in America”, by Nancy Hellmich of USA Today, Dr   Simon Klein president of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity observed “When you look around at our current environment, it’s surprising that anyone is lean because there is an abundance of food and marked decrease in physical activity,” he says.  “Obesity is the dark side of a technically advanced society.”

Don’t be another statistic – Let exercise be the pathway to physical, psychological and physiological health!!

Why exercise and how do you keep going?  How do you remain consistent? Very simply – it’s a mental process.  Don’t exercise in a vacuum.  You can spend many hours in a gym and still not feel as though you have mastered the art of exercise.  Why not?

Through the years we’ve learned that there’s much more to fitness than meets the eye.  Sure we want six-pack abs, lean legs, toned triceps but we exercise to be healthy as well – to feel comfortable in our own skin, to have power within ourselves- self-respect and self-esteem and to have energy for things other than work.

You know you are not totally subjected to the winds of chance that blow through the family tree; you can take control of your physical and emotional core.  A fitness routine goes hand in hand with empowerment.  Add exercise to your emotional center and you will begin to master the essence of exercise which is about having a strong mental emotional and psychological core.  Think of all the physical, psychological and physiological ailments you have had to cope with at one time or another.

Aren’t you tired of being tired? Need to increase your self-confidence, self-discipline and self-fulfillment? You have nothing to lose but a few pounds. Take control; make exercise a part of your daily regimen and you’ll be surprised at the amazing rewards.  Make fitness a priority and you ‘ll be able to do more things in life with less exertion and look and feel a lot better about doing them.  It’s all about your personal best and you deserve to be at your very best.

Body by Corinne is not just about hard bodies – it’s a well balanced workout routine encompassing all areas of fitness – strength, flexibility and an overall feeling of wellness that is at the heart of a fitness regimen.

Gain control over the physical dimensions of your body- daily practice of self control builds new foundations of behaviors.  Mental and emotional toughness result in the strengthening of the inner core of strength,

Why buy another exercise video?

1. Variety: Acknowledge the need for workout variety – the marketplace could accommodate a variety of exercise videos because as a serious exerciser you must constantly vary exercises, sets and repetitions over time to avoid muscle accommodation.  Muscles accommodate to a specific kind of stress and plateau when the exerciser applies the same kind of stress to same muscles over time.  In other words to continue getting results you must add variety to your exercise program.  In addition all kinds of physical activity are good for you and variety keeps you motivated.
2. Freedom: Videos establish a way for the exerciser to have freedom and education to individualize your program and to rotate your exercises to achieve a balance in all areas of fitness.  You don’t want to be taking the step class five times a week.  If you haven’t incorporated muscle toning this week your exercise routine is lacking balance.  Everyone’s training routine should be as diverse and unique as they are.
3. Convenience:  Many people love the fun and convenience of sweating it out solo and in the privacy of their own home.  As  a home exerciser you could mix and match programs to develop a total body workout  which is the  basic foundation of health and fitness excellence.

To understand what Body by Corinne offers, we must first understand scientifically how we need to exercise to master the art of exercise and to achieve long-standing results.

Anaerobic /Weight Training:  Muscle tone is a phrase that is often used by fitness enthusiasts but it ha s a scientific meaning.  It refers to a partial state of contraction, even when the muscle is not in use.  This partial state of contraction even when the muscle is not in use tends to make the muscle hard and firm.  The muscles are in a “ready” state to take on the stress it’s accustomed to during exercise.

At any age, muscle cells respond to high-intensity weight lifting, while the muscles grow taut and firm, bones grow stronger in response to the stress of weight lifting. Weight training is a wonderful metabolism booster because it burns extra calories to keep the muscles alive.

To shape the body you need weights – you’re fooling yourself if you think changing the shape of your body can be accomplished any other way.  You must add weights to your routine if you are interested in adding definition to your muscles.
